There’s a new coach at the WWE Performance Center and his name is Christopher Guy. According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, WWE hired Guy, also known as Ace Steel, after he worked with the company as a guest trainer earlier this year. Guy has trained CM Punk, Colt Cabana and many others. As a veteran of the business, Guy has previously worked with IMPACT Wrestling, Ring of Honor and other companies.

Kevin Fertig, formerly known as WWE superstar Kevin Thorn, recently spoke with Wrestlezone Radio and discussed his time with WWE, the ECW relaunch and more. Fertig spoke about returning as ECW’s ‘Vampire’ Kevin Thorn, noting that he’d felt he left Vince McMahon with a poor opinion of him during his first run that he didn’t see an option where he would come back as Mordecai. He recalled hearing secondhand remarks about how his work was critiqued, noting he was not only trying to please several people at once but was still inexperienced in the ring.
Fertig said that while he “basically had the keys to the kingdom before I was ever ready to even remotely have them,” the Thorn character was a fresh start and he had quite a bit of input on the gimmick that eventually debuted on ECW.

During last night’s SuperFight PPV, it was revealed that MLW and AAA have begun a new alliance. A vignette aired during the PPV where AAA was refereed to as Mexico’s most popular promotion for Lucha Libre.
Crossovers, surprises, and supershows are in the works at this time. As many fans know, MLW has a partnership with The Crash and AAA has a partnership with AEW. There have been a few occasions where MLW has also shared superstars with AEW as well.

Nick Jackson of AEW has once again made it clear that there is ‘zero chance’ that AEW will partner with NJPW. Jackson was asked by a user on Twitter if there would ever be a partnership to which he responded “not happening”.
The Young Bucks previously said that NJPW never valued them among recent reports that a collaboration was in the works. Another Twitter user replied by saying that even if it was in the works, AEW would want to keep it quiet.
Jackson responded to this by saying “It’s really not happening. Been asked this thousands of times and telling the truth is always best. Don’t want fans holding onto something that has zero chance of happening.”

WWE Backstage host Renee Young recently joined the SI Media Podcast to talk about becoming a WWE Commentator for RAW last year.
Renee admitted that she never felt comfortable being a commentator and said she had a very stressful year. Renee said, “I needed something different to chew on. Cole and HHH pulled me aside and told me I was going to do commentary on RAW. I was like ‘What? Why? Who approved this?’ I was going to try and figure it out.”
She continued by saying that calling three hours of wrestling made it hard for her to show her bubbly and sarcastic personality. “Corey Graves is great at that. I was used to being the ‘A’ person. It was odd trying to jump and talk about something that had already been said. I tried to come at it from a fan standpoint but that does not always work. I felt some misdirection about what my purpose was out there.”

Three-man factions have been a part of wrestling history for a long time. We’ll start off by saying that we’re not going to count The Fabulous Freebirds nor the nWo on this list. While we do consider those two to be among the greatest trios of all time, their lack of appearances or impact in WWE is why they’re not added here.
If this were about wrestling in general, the rest assured, the top two spots on the list would belong to the two mighty factions. The new BMF title was specially created for this fight between Diaz and Masvidal. Both fighters are hugely popular among fight fans and UFC chief Dana White believed that a fight of this magnitude deserved it’s own belt. The result of the fight saw the New York State Athletic Commission (NYSAC) calling off the contest before it could reach the championship rounds based on the damage incurred across the first 15 minutes of action. WWE Talent Reportedly Very Upset With Vince McMahon After Saudi Arabia Situation
Both Wade Keller of the Pro Wrestling Torch and Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer are reporting that a great deal of the talent are not pleased with Vince McMahon after what happened in Saudi Arabia post-Crown Jewel.
The majority of the talent were held over in Saudi Arabia for 24 more hours after WWE released a statement that the plane was dealing with “mechanical issues” but Keller was the first to report that a lot of the talent that were stuck on the plane (and eventually the hotel) had their suspicions as to the validity of such a reason. There was never a clear sense as to what happened and they were hearing way too many different excuses for the initial flight. Meltzer seconded the report of upset talent, saying that there was one wrestler who did believe the mechanical aspect as they saw crew working on the plane, but everyone else he corresponded with did not. Former-IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion Hiromu Takahashi returned from a devastating neck injury on Sunday. After IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay defended the title against BUSHI at NJPW Power Struggle, a video played on the video walls, with a countdown to January 4th. Hiromu Takahashi then challenged the champion to a match at Wrestle Kingdom 14.
Takahashi relinquished the IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Championship after his injury in San Francisco. Having never lost the belt, he looks to reclaim it from Ospreay, who has been having a banner 2019.
Hiromu returned with his cat family, Daryl and El Hijo Del Daryl. He also threw himself around the ring, and did a neck bridge, to prove that his body is sound and healed.

Jacob Fatu Retains MLW Heavyweight Title In No DQ Match Against LA Park
In a chaotic finish to the end of MLW Superfight, Jacob Fatu retained his MLW Heavyweight Championship in a brutal no disqualification match against LA Park. In a match that saw both superstars going all out in their efforts to win, it came down to a wild finish to close out MLW Superfight.
Late in the match, Salina de la Renta jumped into the ring and slapped Josef Samael, who had also stepped into the ring to interfere with the match. As Salina and Samael argued, LA Park attempted a spear, but Samael evaded fast enough that Park ended up putting Salina through the table. After that, Fatu landed a devastating superkick to Park, and came away with the win after a follow up Samoan drop moonsault.

Alexander Hammerstone Retains National Openweight Title Against Davey Boy Smith Jr.
Alexander Hammerstone came away with a controversial victory over Davey Boy Smith Jr. at MLW Superfight, where he retained his National Openweight Championship. After an incredible match between the two, things broke down towards the end, and when it was all said and done, Hammerstone was able to walk away with his championship.
In a wild finish to the match, Hammerstone was able to come away with a victory thanks to some underhanded tactics. After kicking out of a pin from Smith, Hammerstone rolled up Smith and grabbed the ropes to hold on for the win. After the referee counted to three, Hammerstone quickly escaped out of the ring, leaving Smith and the crowd absolutely angered at the ending.

Fans looking forward to meeting Alexa Bliss at the upcoming Ringside Fest will, unfortunately, be unable to do so, as the event has announced that she will no longer be appearing. However, a major WWE superstar is stepping up in her place.
In an announcement on Saturday, Ringside Fest announced that Becky Lynch would be replacing Bliss at the convention. No reason for the switch was announced, but it was revealed that all tickets for Bliss would be honored for Lynch. For those still looking to head to the event, Ringside Fest is set for Sunday, November 3 in New York City. Tickets are still available to meet Lynch, Ricochet, and Nikki Cross, so if you’re in the area and looking to go, you still have some time.

The reason why I started wrestling was because I, um, was a huge Sable fan. I literally did not know a lot about wrestling, um, I just saw her and was like, “Oh, that looks like it would be a cool job. I want to me a women’s wrestler.” But then, I started watching it and I became obsessed with Lita and Trish Stratus, the real athletes of the industry. But I would have to say, until they came along, there was um, a dip, almost like degrading, for women’s wrestling, and I personally feel like that the way that women were being portrayed during that time, like Sable’s role …and Miss “Kat” Kitty, so their roles in wrestling were like degrading, they weren’t being portrayed as athletes.

Lance Storm Returning To WWE As A Backstage Producer
If I can be serious for a moment, wrestling journeyman Lance Storm is returning to WWE after fourteen years away. Following the announced closure of the Storm Wrestling Academy in August, Lance has accepted a position as a backstage producer. When he was last in the company, he was a trainer at then-affiliated Ohio Valley Wrestling.

Other than running his academy, Lance has been all over the independent scene in his time away from WWE. Preliminary WWE SmackDown Viewership Sees Increase
The overnight viewership numbers are in for this week’s WWE Friday Night SmackDown episode in Buffalo, New York at the KeyBank Center on FOX.
The episode drew 2.543 million viewers, according to ShowBuzz Daily. It also drew a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic, which was #1 for the night.
This is up from last Friday’s SmackDown episode on FS1 that did an average of 888,000 viewers with a 0.27 rating in the 18-49 demographic. It’s also up from two weeks ago when SmackDown aired on FOX with 2.418 million viewers.
To compare, Monday’s RAW episode drew an average of 2.13 million viewers, down from last week’s 2.34 million viewers.

After NXT’s incredible showing during tonight’s WWE Friday Night SmackDown, it’s surprising to hear that the company and its superstars barely made it to the show on time. According to a new report from John Pollock of Post Wrestling, that is the case, however.
Was told the NXT charter didn't land until 7:55 pm and they had a police escort to get them to the building.
One person I spoke with added they could not have cut it any closer to get everyone in place for the third segment when Shayna Baszler made her appearance.

Adam Cole Retains NXT Title In Grueling Match Against Daniel Bryan
NXT’s invasion of WWE Friday Night SmackDown ended in a big way on Friday, as Adam Cole retained his NXT Championship in a grueling, incredible match against Daniel Bryan. The match saw both superstars giving their all in an attempt to prove themselves in front of the crowd, but it was Cole who was able to rise to the occasion, winning with Triple H and Shawn Michaels watching from the side.
After the win, a large majority of NXT’s roster came down to the ring, where they joined Triple H in declaring their arrival. According to Triple H, if RAW and SmackDown want to go to war with NXT, then the company is ready, and from the sounds of it, NXT will be doing just that at WWE Survivor Series.

Shayna Baszler Invades SmackDown, Takes Out Bayley
A match between Bayley and Nikki Cross for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship ended with Bayley retaining her title, but the true surprise came after, when NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler invaded the match after, taking down both Sasha Banks and Bayley in a brutal assault.
After Bayley won the match – thanks to Banks interfering at the end – Baszler quickly made her appearance known. She jumped over the security railing and tossed Banks into the post outside of the ring. From there, she got into the ring and delivered a beat down on Bayley, staring her down before gathering her belt and leaving. It was a big message from one of NXT’s most fierce superstars, and who knows whether or not she’ll be back in the future to take on Bayley.

Brock Lesnar Quits SmackDown, Vows To Invade RAW Next Week
Brock Lesnar kicked off the start of tonights WWE Friday Night SmackDown, and he did so with a bang. After he and Paul Heyman recounted Lesnar’s win over Cain Velasquez at WWE Crown Jewel, Heyman made a bombshell announcement, saying Lesnar has quit SmackDown in order to get a match against Rey Mysterio.
Heyman said that at first, he went to Vince McMahon and demanded that Lesnar be given a match, especially after Mysterio attacked Lesnar at Crown Jewel. Because of contractual obligations, however, Heyman said he was denied, leading to Lesnar quitting SmackDown and promising to invade Monday Night RAW next week in order to find Mysterio.

WWE SmackDown To Feature New Commentary Team Due To Travel Issues
With mechanical issues unfortunately leaving a handful of WWE superstars and talent grounded in Saudi Arabia, tonight’s episode of WWE Friday Night SmackDown is going to have a bit of a different look. According to a report from The Wrap, Renee Young, Tom Phillips, and Aiden English will be stepping into the announcer’s table for tonight’s episode.
As the WWE continues to attempt to rewrite some of what was set to occur on the episode due to the issues, it seems as if they’ve at least secured some announcers for the show. While it remains to be seen what the rest of the show will include, the WWE has been known to adjust on the fly, so don’t be too surprised if they manage to handle this with some ease.

Atlas Air Releases Statement On Delayed WWE Flight From Saudi Arabia
Due to mechanical issues, WWE talent weren’t able to leave Saudi Arabia in time to make it to SmackDown today like previously planned. The airline responsible for the chartered flight is Atlas Air. They just released a statement on the ordeal via Pro Wrestling Sheet.
“A chartered WWE passenger flight operated by Atlas Air is currently delayed in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia due to a mechanical issue,” the company wrote. “The flight was scheduled to depart at 0300 local time on November 1. Our top priority is always to ensure our passengers arrive safely and on time at their destination. The aircraft is being repaired and will be inspected and certified before returning to service to transport our passengers to their final destination. We regret that operational disruptions delayed the flight and apologize to our passengers who were inconvenienced.”

As advertised, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson made a special announcement after today’s UFC 245 press conference.
Johnson, who will award the “BMF” belt to the winner of the UFC 244 main event between Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz, announced that he is making a film about “The Smashing Machine” Mark Kerr along with his production company. Tonight’s SmackDown will look quite different.
With much of the roster stuck in Saudi Arabia due to travel delays, WWE is flying a number of top NXT stars into Buffalo, New York, for tonight’s show. This comes from a report by Wrestling Observer‘s Dave Meltzer. While no names were specified, expect to see some NXT stars on tonight’s telecast in addition to many female stars, Daniel Bryan, The Miz, and others that didn’t make the trip.
As per when current talent will leave, it looks like their flights from Saudi Arabia will now depart around 8 p.m. ET.

This week’s Monday Night Raw featured a rare happening in today’s WWE. A talent popped up on the screen with no prior introduction and no NXT TV time under her belt. Carolina (real name Catalina Garcia) was the luchadora who’s accompanying Sin Cara in his feud with Andrade and Zelina Vega.
As reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Carolina is one of the youngest performers on the main roster at just 19 years of age. She has had a few matches at NXT house shows, and they’re going to use her just for this program and not on a full-time basis. This is part of a new initiative on RAW which would see more enhancement-style matches featuring new NXT call-ups or other local talents in temporary positions.

WWE has confirmed that the majority of their roster won’t be making it to Buffalo after their plane out of Saudi Arabia hit travel issues after Crown Jewel.
More than 175 Superstars, production crew and employees boarded a 747 charter flight back to the United States on Thursday. After the door closed, due to several aircraft problems including mechanical issues, all passengers sat on the tarmac for more than six hours. With SmackDown set to emanate live from Buffalo, N.Y., several Superstars felt so strongly that they arranged for their own separate charter in order to make it back to the U.S. for the show. Due to unforeseen issues, that charter will not land until after the live broadcast on FOX.

Joey Mercury Calls Out ROH GM Greg Gilliland Over Talent Issues; ROH Declines Comment
Joey Mercury is taking to social media to voice his displeasure with his former employer.
Last night, PWInsider reported Mercury and Ring Of Honor mutually agreed to part ways. Since that story broke, Mercury has had quite a bit to say about ROH General Manager Greg Gilliland regarding his handling of talent in his tenure.
Mercury shared his correspondence with Gilliand over several Tweets including screenshots of past text conversations, taking the ROH GM to task on several issues. Some of the things Mercury has brought up include:
Management allowing Kelly Klein to work in South Africa despite having a concussion.
Their lack of care and slow response to Jay Lethal breaking his arm (as well as a Jeff Cobb injury).
Alex Shelley working as an athletic trainer (including helping Flip Gordon reset his elbow).
Not re-signing Shane Taylor.
Having zero concussion protocol.

Io Shirai Makes A Pitch To Participate In The First Ever Women’s WarGames Match
It was announced this past Wednesday by William Regal that the first ever Women’s WarGames Match would take place at the next NXT TakeOver and one of the division’s most diabolical competitors wants a spot in the hellish match. Io Shirai just made a pitch to be one of the participants, citing that she’s annoyed by Candice LeRae and Rhea Ripley.
“Candice, Rhea, everyone is annoying me. That’s when William Regal announces the Wargames at Next NXT TakeOver! Did you hear that!? If I get a shot at women’s first ever Wargames, Ms. Io Shirai will survive and leave deep scars in the match! Don’t take your eyes off me!”
Shirai defeated Candice LeRae on this week’s NXT via a well-placed steel chair that gave “The Genius Of The Sky” an undeserving 1-2-3. One of the WarGames captains, Rhea Ripley, rolled in the ring to make the save. If such an encounter indicates anything, we may very well see Io get her wish.

Majority Of WWE Talent Stuck In Saudi Arabia After Crown Jewel, SmackDown Facing Issues
Dave Meltzer is reporting that as of about 5:00 AM EST, most of the stars that went to Saudi Arabia for WWE Crown Jewel have been unable to leave the country and there is time ticking as when it could be feasible for said talent to make it back to Buffalo, NY in time for Friday Night SmackDown.
According to Meltzer, about 12 wrestlers made it out of the country and the reasons as to why there is such a major delay are currently unknown. The trip from Saudi Arabia is a 14-hour trip so for talent and crew to make it back to Buffalo in time is just about closed as of this writing. The impression Meltzer got from his report was that talent were asked to leave the plane after boarding and that it would be awhile until they would be able to take flight. Joey Mercury Reportedly Leaving Backstage Role At Ring Of Honor
Joey Mercury is gone from Ring of Honor following a report by PWInsider. The former WWE producer and wrestler was working with ROH in a creative and producing role behind the scenes and has been since May 2018. He is said to have been removed from both positions following the company’s recent tours of the UK. PWInsider reports that it was a “mutually agreed upon decision.” Joey is still contracted with ROH for the time being due to a non-compete clause.
Mercury was quietly released from his WWE role back in 2017 and worked as a trainer on the independent scene between then and his 2018 hiring in ROH. He’s most famously remembered as a member of CM Punk’s Straight Edge Society in his wrestling days, as well as one half of Seth Rollins’ J&J Security during his heel run at the top of the card.

WWE Stock Down Over $10 After Third Quarter 2019 Earnings Call
On the day that WWE reported losses in live event revenue and merchandise and missed all their projections in revenue, their stock dropped $10.40, or 15%. It now sits at just over $56 a share, near its 52 week low of $53.25. The company did beat profit expectations, but still lowered their outlook for the coming months.
Vince McMahon and other top executives were not on the financial call this morning due to WWE holding Crown Jewel this afternoon. With ratings continuing to decline on top of these figures, it will be interesting to see how the company tries to right the ship just as they settle into their new norm on FOX and USA.

We’re officially on the road to NXT TakeOver: War Games with William Regal’s announcement that NXT’s ladies will be climbing into the double cage. With two War Games matches expected, everyone will want to stay healthy so they can steal the show in what is becoming one of the yellow and gold brand’s signature events.
Despite that, every episode of NXT features one or two superstars suffering from their opponent’s physicality. Tonight at Crown Jewel, Tyson Fury defeated Braun Strowman by count-out. After the match, Braun Strowman regained a measure of his heat by landing a Powerslam onto Tyson.

In a WWE digital exclusive, the boxing champion said the following regarding his match tonight and a potential return to the squared circle.
“It was absolutely fantastic. A great experience. I was really happy to be here in Saudi Arabia on a massive show and Braun definitely is The Monster Among Men,” he began. “I can’t believe he got back up and slammed me to the floor and you know it was, it was a bit of a cheap shot after the bell. But what can we do? It’s WWE.”
As far as his future is concerned, Fury’s focus now turns to his usual realm of Boxing and his February 22 fight against Deontay Wilder.
